Plymouth, UK – 30th January 2026 – ACUA Ocean has announced that it has joined SCEPTRE, the UK sovereign C2 ecosystem, delivering effect-based maritime ISR payloads and advanced vessel management technology.
SCEPTRE, a next-generation, sovereign technology stack designed to anticipate and meet the evolving operational and strategic needs of UK defence, such as digital targeting.
Aligned to the Defence Industrial Strategy, which mandates greater sovereign capability and SME-enriched supply chains, SCEPTRE embodies how agile, best-in-class UK technology can drive battlefield dominance, strengthen the national industrial base, and better leverage the nation’s most valuable assets to grow the UK economy.
Plymouth-based ACUA Ocean was founded in 2020, and is committed to accelerating British sovereign dual-use capability, with all intellectual property, engineering and R&D and a majority shareholding anchored in the UK.
As part of an integrated and interoperable consortium solution, ACUA’s USV Pioneer will provide “mothership’” capabilities for the deployment of surface, subsurface and aerial payloads, as well as serving as a communications node. Pioneer’s unrivalled 7 ton payload to vessel size/cost ratio will enable partners to rapidly deploy modular payloads to theatre.
SCEPTRE represents a powerful collaboration between leading UK-based companies, including Hadean, 2iC, Vizgard, Kraken, Evolve Dynamics and now ACUA Ocean; each contributing cutting-edge capabilities to form an integrated, effect-focused C2 ecosystem and frontline capability.
ACUA’s announcement follows the recent launch of ACUA Remote, a proprietary integrated platform monitoring system (IPMS) for autonomous vessels. Additionally, the solution enables multi-vessel integration for a single view of fleet or swarm engineering management; reduces operator cost and complexity.
Commenting on the announcement, ACUA COO Mike Tinmouth said, “ACUA is a proudly British SME designing and developing cutting edge autonomous solutions. Joining the SCEPTRE technology stack is a natural fit in our pursuit of developing world-class sovereign capability”
